Toothpick

Toothpick is a male Albino Burmese Python.  He was found under a bush at UCLA and in a roundabout way found his way to our little family.  His tongue was apparently damaged when he was younger as he doesn't have a fork at the end of it.  We suspect that it was probably bitten off by a rat.  It's nicely healed now though and doesn't seem to cause him any problem other than perhaps a reduced sense of smell.  When he sticks his tongue out to sample the air, it looks like a toothpick - hence the name.

We acquired him in February 2003, and he was about 4 feet long at the time.
