Nia is a female Mangrove snake we purchased in Jan 2003. She had a cold when we got her, but she responded to treatment quickly and soon got over it. She's a semi-venomous rear-fanged snake so bites from her are not all that much fun, but not a real problem. Her nose is rubbed raw and we're working on trying to help her heal that. We're not sure how old she is, but we're guessing a year or so. She's about 3 feet long and should grow to somewhere between 6 and 8 feet. Mangrove snakes are native to Malaysia, Sumatra, and East Bengal where they like to hang out in the Mangrove swamps. They are also known as Yellow-Ringed Cat Snakes, because of their cat-like pupils.
Nia is our sexy SnakesOnline mascot - her picture graces coffee cups, hats, aprons, water bottles and all sorts of great stuff in our online store.
